Paragraph No. 1Translation
Iqbal is our national poet. He was born at Sialkot. He also got his
early education from there. Then he came to Lahore. There he did his
M.A. in Philosophy. For some days he also served as a professor at
Government College. Then he went to England. On returning from England,
he began practicing law at Lahore but he did not like this work. He was
much interested in poetry and national affairs. He was grieved to think
that the Muslims were poor, ignorant and backward in the entire world.
He has expressed his very grief in his poetry. But his poetry has a
quality that it does not dampen the spirit of the reader; it urges him
to action. Every verse of Iqbal is full of passion.
